Question
Refrigerated containers run on 415V three-phase electrical power. The cooling unit draws 8 to 12 kWh per day on chill mode and up to 30 kWh per day in deep freeze. Some smaller units can run from a 32-amp single-phase line. For off-grid sites, a diesel-powered genset is available as an option.
Did you know?
A reefer can run from different power sources during a single journey. The same container may use shore power in a depot, a generator on a truck and a ship's electrical system at sea without changing the cargo inside.
