Shipping containers are designed to be wind- and water-tight at sea. They pass strict ISO inspections for water ingress before sale or rental. The door seals and joints stay sealed under spray testing. Used containers can develop leaks at the seals over time, so good rental firms replace seals before each new rental.
Did you know?
A watertight container does not work like a submarine. It is designed to keep out wind and rain while still allowing tiny amounts of air exchange through its vents. Without those vents, condensation problems would often be much worse.
